"Our Snowy Day"

Gracie Leigh got to see her first snow on Friday afternoon and Sat. morning! She was SO excited! It started snowing about 2:00 so by the time she woke up from her nap there was snow on the ground! I wish I had gotten a picture of the look on her face when she looked out her window and saw it for the first time. It was priceless! She said mommy it's "Our Snowy Day!" (That is from a book she has and it was so cute to hear her say it and she was right it never snows in good old South GA so it was our snowy day!:)) Daddy was on his way home to play in the snow so we ate a snack in the kitchen and she watched the snow fall from the window. When daddy came home we bundled up and headed outside. She loved trying to catch snowflakes on her gloves and we showed her how to stick her tongue out and catch them in her mouth. We made snowballs and had snowball fights and she even made snow angels. I got a few pictures from Friday late afternoon when we were out and then alot from Sat. morning. It was so pretty when we woke up on Sat. it had stopped snowing and it was just a beautiful white. We hurried down and ate breakfast and then bundled up again and headed out to play. It was a good thing we did because it started melting after lunch! We went in the back yard and she dug up snow with her shovel and made more snow angels, played on her playset and just had fun running through the snow! Daddy showed her how to sled down our big hill. We started out with a card board box and she thought that was great but alot of work for daddy. So, daddy thought of her floats from this past summer. That worked SO much better! She had fun sliding on her tummy, sitting and just rolling around in it when she wiped out! We all had so much fun! It is the most joyous thing to see your child having so much fun and being so happy! We stayed out for awhile and then headed in to warm up! Here are a few pictures from "Our Snowy Day"! They said it snowed about 3-4 inches which is a record for us down here! (These pictures do not compare to Craig's brother, Uncle Ryan and Stephanie in D.C. They have been overrun with snow...which I can now see would be fun but not for long~so no laughing at our little snow pictures...hee hee!!:)) Looking out the window and waiting for daddy to get home!:)
Say cheese!
Making her first snowball!
Look mommy I did it!:)
Throwing snowballs at daddy (mommy got a few too but just not with the camera in hand!:)
Front of our house all covered in snow on Sat. morning!
Back yard!
Open snow to play in....we went right for it as soon as G finished breakfast!:)
Digging in the snow...she thought this was fun...like the beach!:)
So happy!
Snowball fight~ G thought this was hilliarious becuase the snow was so powdery that it just exploded!:)
Snow Angels!!
First time sledding and we started small with a cardboard box on our small hill!
Then moved on to the large hill with beach floats (daddy's idea)! That worked so much better!:)
Wheeee!!
Wipeout!!
Holding hands and sliding with daddy!
Wheeee....all by myself!
A little unsure about trying the slide so daddy had to go down the first time with her!:)
Being a big girl!:)

That looks like fun! No laughing from us, we are jealous...that's the perfect snow. You get to go play in it and then it goes away. :) I love the sunglasses and beach gear in the snow! That's how you play with snow in GA! :)
