First Birthday Party!

We had Lillie's First Birthday Party back on Sunday August 28th! We had a BBQ here at our house with family and close friends! We had a wonderful time fellowship with everyone, eating yummy BBQ made by daddy and watching the kids play together! I have to say it was so much fun to plan, decorate and do but this mommy was exhausted for a week~ HA! I wouldn't have it any other way though! I was very fortunate to have two of my sweet friends, Amy and Carolyn help me out! They are my party planners! I used a fun color scheme of hot pink, turquoise and green with party hats and cupcakes and they both had lots of stuff I could borrow for the party! That was a huge help and saved me alot of time! We wondered how sweet Lillie would do and as always she was our little sweetie! I don't think she quite new what to do with all the people around but took it in stride! She never cried and was so good about her cake! I think she enjoyed big sis feeding it to her the best! Daddy had to smash her hand in it and then put it on her face! I just knew she would dive right in and have it all in her hair (like she does with most of her food on a daily basis) but she was more reserved this time!:) We asked our guests to bring baby dolls to donate to the Children's Hospital instead of gifts! I can't take credit completely for this idea! I got the idea from a friend but we did want something personal that Lillie loves to donate and settled on baby dolls because she is in love with them! The girls have plenty of toys so it was the perfect thing! But don't worry, we got Lillie a baby doll from us!:) We had a ton of pictures from the party (which if you know me I have to take a ton) and so it took me awhile to go through them! I took a bunch, Craig took some and then our friend Geary finished it out for us! That was a huge help too because he captured moments that I didn't even see because I was either running around or bathing Lillie after cake!
