Cookie the Elf!

Meet our Elf on the Shelf...Cookie!
That's right...Cookie!:) He joined our family today, Dec. 12, 2009, and will be watching us and reporting back to Santa each night!
I found this about two months ago at our Merry Marketplace here. It came with a cute book to tell the elf's story. We got it out this morning and read it to Gracie when she got up. Then we told her we had to go find him around the house. When we walked down stairs he was waiting with an early present for her...a new Tinkerbell ornament for her tree! (The ornament is a tradition we started her first year. It is usually something she is interested in...last year it was Minnie Mouse). She didn't know what to think of him at first. You see he sits and watches you all day and you can't touch him but you can talk to him. The first thing we had to do was give him a name and Gracie came up with Cookie all by herself. He watched her eat her breakfast and then she wanted to show him how she did her princess puzzle! She would talk to him throughout the day which was cute. Don't know how much she believes though because later this morning she asked if he was pretend. What do you say to that...we dodged the questions some what and she came to her own conclusion that he was pretend. Smart girl huh?:) It doesn't really matter it is just a fun little game to do at Christmas. She said goodnight to him before bed and blew him a kiss. We will see where he ends up in the morning. To be continued....:)Welcome Cookie!

LOVE IT! So many families do that out here...I bought the book/kit a couple of months ago at Barnes and Noble for (one day) when we have kids. They are hard to find sometimes so I got it when I saw it. We actually have and Elf on the Shelf at our school this year and the kids LOVE it! I love that Gracie named y'alls Cookie...so cute! Well...enjoy her excitement!
