Father's Day!

We enjoyed celebrating Father's Day last weekend! Craig had class on Sat. so the girls and I were busy getting daddy's gifts ready! I had seen a sign at our Publix for kids to come in on Sat. and decorate a cookie cake for their dad! I thought that would be fun and G has been so into cooking lately that she would love it! I didn't tell her until that morning and she was very excited! I thought she would be icing the whole thing but the baker did the icing for her! He had several colors to choose from and let her pick which colors she wanted and what she wanted on it. I thought she might be a little upset that she didn't get to do it herself but she didn't! She chose a flower for daddy and did get to put the sprinkles on by herself!
That night I had signed G and daddy up for a Daddy Daughter Date at our local Chick-fil-la! We love Chick-fil-la not only for there yummy food but the wonderful service we get (especially having kids in tow) and for the fun family activities they do! I'm sure all CFA's are great but I think ours has an event every week of some sort! We have four here and two are great with events! So, on Sat. night they had this special date time with daddy's! G couldn't have been more excited! She wanted me to curl her hair, put on her jewelry and even talked me into letting her wear a little clear gloss! She looked so pretty and grown up!:) They had a blast! Craig took some pictures but I need to get them off his phone! They had table cloths on the table and she got to use a napkin which was so cute! Daddy said she put it in her lap like a big girl and even wiped her chin. She got ketchup on it after that and got upset because it was dirty! Daddy showed her how to fold it over so it would be clean again and she thought that was amazing!:) They had a lady who did magic tricks, blew up balloons and the cow was there! They ate off china and got served at their tables! They had ice cream sundaes for dessert and G loaded up on toppings and then she got to play! They came home with all sorts of goodies! Daddy got a hat, cologne and make-up for me! I even got a pair of earrings!:) I made out too and wasn't even there!:)
On Sunday we had doughnuts for daddy when he woke up! This was also our 7 year Anniversary! Craig had sent me beautiful flowers the day before which was such a surprise! Honestly I was so caught up in Father's Day fun that I didn't give it much thought! I did get him a card but almost forgot to give it to him! We were laying in bed Sunday night reading and it hit me that I had it~ HA! We were able to go out to dinner on Tuesday night to celebrate thanks to my parents being in town to babysit! We also have a little getaway trip planned in August that we are looking forward too and is our gift to each other!
After breakfast we headed to church and then home for lunch and surprise daddy with his cookie cake! Then we attempted to make pizza that night on the grill with daddy's new pizza stone the girls gave him! That will be a trial and error thing to figure out but I think it will work great once we get the crust done!
I think daddy had a great Father's Day and we hope our Dad's had a great one as well!

Hey Meredith! Cute pics. Ryan and I love grilling pizza and it was a learning process for us too, but thought I would share what we do. We roll it out 1/4" thick and put it on tin foil with cooking spray and dusted with flour. Then we put it on the grill on medium or probably even medium-low and cover the grill lid. As soon as the top of the dough is no longer sticky, kind of like a seal has formed, we put on the toppings and close the lid again until it's all done. If the dough finishes first we just throw it under the broiler quickly to finish the toppings. Hope that helps. We love it because the bottom is nice and crunchy but the top is soft.
