Birthday Weekend and The Kitchen Sink!

My birthday was this past Sunday and Gracie Leigh and daddy threw me a party to celebrate! We went out to eat on Friday night with some friends which was fun! Then daddy took Gracie shopping at Publix on Sat. for cake supplies, flowers, balloons, card, etc. She had so much fun with daddy. She got a cookie, rode in the "car" cart and got to help daddy pick everything out. She picked out my balloon (which quickly become her balloon) and loved watching the man blow it up. She picked out my flowers by telling daddy she wanted the hot pink and green ones and even picked out the cutest Mickey Mouse card for me. (Can you tell that this is heading to be all about G:)). She was so excited when they got home to show me everything. On Sunday daddy baked the cake during G's nap and when she got up we let her decorate it which she loved! Daddy cooked shrimp on the grill which were fabulous and we enjoyed a nice meal as a family and of course big pieces of cake for dessert! It was a great day!

Yesterday after G got up from her nap I decided to try a new "game" with her. I got out a bowl, measuring cups, spoons, strainer, funnel, etc. and let her play with them in the kitchen sink. She loved this new activity. She would fill up her measuring cup and dump it in the bowl and stir it up with a spoon. I held a measuring cup too and she would fill hers up and then dump it into mine and then I would dump it back into hers and then in the bowl. She was doing great with it and kept most of the water in the sink! Some did make it on the floor but that's what towels are for...right!?:)
I do have to brag on my sweet girl! She has been going to her 2K preschool for two weeks now. On Monday when I picked her up her teacher stopped me to brag on her. She told me that she was playing with the letter blocks and knew all the letters and sounds that she asked her and could even tell her words that start with each letter. (Now, I already knew she could do all of this but it is great to hear an outsider say such nice things!:)) She also said that in their group time she would often call on Gracie because she new all her colors and would tell the class. Her teacher was so impressed at how smart she was and how great she was doing in class. I am so proud of my baby girl! She loves "School" and her teachers and it makes me so proud to hear such good things about her! Okay..I will stop now...but I am just a happy mommy!:)
My little sweetie after she got home from shopping with daddy!
Giving me my flowers and holding on to "her" balloon!:)

My pretty flowers that G picked out!

Focusing on decorating the cake!
Posing with the cake decorator! (Do you like our party hats? We just stopped wearing them today! Gracie thought that we should wear them everytime we ate for the past three days!:))

The finished product!:)

Playing her new "game" at the sink!

Stirring up the water real good!:)

So much fun!
