Merry Christmas a few days late from the Bechtel Bunch! We hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of Jesus with family and friends! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with our little family and a wonderful Christmas day with my parents. We are now all under the weather but hope to bounce back to finish celebrating with Craig's parents later in the week. We had such a fun Christmas Eve day. Daddy had the day off and we just hung out around the house that morning. Gracie and I baked homemade cookies for Santa. Santa can thank Emeril Lagasse(?) for the recipe of chocolate chip peanut butter cookies. I also painted her fingernails and toenails which I had been promising to do for about a week. She was so excited to have them painted for church that afternoon. We went to our Christmas Eve service at 4 that afternoon. That service is a family friendly one and they have the children's choir singing, a live nativity scene with animals including a camel, sheep, donkey, ram, etc. Gracie was in awe the entire time. It was such a wonderful time of worship and I was glad we could do it as a family. Lillie was an angel the entire time. She sat in daddy's lap the whole time just looking around at everything. Before the service daddy took G to look and pet all the animals and she loved that. Once we got home we had a nice supper, put out the reindeer food in the front yard, drank hot chocolate to warm up and set cookies out for Santa. We also let the girls open two presents each. They each opened one from us and then they gave each other their presents. Of course Lillie didn't have a clue what was going on but G loved it all! Then we got the girls in G's bed and daddy read the Christmas story from the bible. I love these traditions with our girls. Some are ones we have started ourselves and a few are from our childhood memories. Here are some pictures from our day!
I love the look on Lillie's face. She absolutely adores her big sis!
Getting ready to open their two presents!
G opening her pj's from us! (We started this Gracie's first Christmas by giving her a new pair of Pajama's on Christmas Eve. This is something my mom did for me as a child.)
G opening Lillie's present from her. It was an ornament. We thought this year we would start a new tradition of the girls getting each other ornaments for Christmas. It is something they can pick out for each other and collect. Gracie wanted Sleeping Beauty and she wanted to get Lillie an I LOVE YOU ornament. The best we found was a recordable frame ornament. Gracie recorded a message to Lillie that was so sweet and something she can always treasure!
Giving Lillie a kiss thanking her for her present!
Showing off her new ornament!
Spreading out her reindeer food in the front yard!
Making sure the yard was covered!:)
