The Sunday after Gracie's dance recital we headed to Amelia Island for our family beach trip! My parents took the girls back with them for two nights so Craig and I could get down there early and unpack/set up and have a date night! It was a much needed break after our crazy few weeks! Thanks Nana and Papa! We got the girls on Monday and had a week full of fun in the sun! We had beautiful weather everyday and just enjoyed swimming in the pool and playing in the sand! Gracie of course was a fish in the water and loved every minute of it! Lillie was not the biggest fan. The first day she clung to me most of the time. The second and third day she warmed up to get in her float and play around on the steps and the last couple of day she was back to clinging to mommy! Ha! I got a workout that's for sure!:) Gracie really enjoyed the beach and being in the sand this year! She built sandcastles with daddy, flew her butterfly kite, collected sea shells, threw the Frisbee and ball with me or daddy and enjoyed Popsicles on the beach! Again, Lillie was not the biggest fan. She did like walking on the beach some (with her water shoes on of course~ HA) and she enjoyed sitting under our tent reading books or eating snacks but playing in it was out of the question! We enjoyed going out to eat a few nights and also going out for ice cream and a trying a few nights for pictures. The second night we went out for pictures in their pretty white outfits. I tried not to have any expectations at all and I'm glad I didn't. This was probably the best night of pictures we got and we didn't even make it down to the beach before meltdowns. We tried a few other night and then I just gave up. It's tough to make two kids cooperate at the same time. One would be smiling and posing and the other would be off somewhere else and vise versa. Oh well, this is just keeping it real!:) Here are the pictures off my camera that we took in the evenings. Part 2 is on my phone and will be coming later! Enjoy!
Taking a walk to the golf hole that was in front of our condo.
These two love each other SO much!
So happy to be running free! The bottom of Gracie's feet were bright green when we got done and it wouldn't wash off. They must use dyed sand or grass on the green and I never new it. Lillie's were not green because she refused to take off her shoes. Smart girl on this one! :)
Sweet face!
Happy!
Thought this was a cute one for daddy since he loves golf!
Showing us the ocean behind her!
Just a mess!:)
Ready to go out to dinner!
My sweeties!
Daddy and G...Lil was over pictures by now!
Our big girl likes to pose for the camera!
