Gracie had her second dance recital on Sat. May 19th! She has been so excited about dancing on stage and just couldn't wait for her special day. We had dress rehearsal on Friday afternoon and then the recital on Sat. afternoon. She had three dances she did this year...ballet, tap and tumble. They do it a little differently here than when I took dance. I have to get her completely ready in her first outfit and then when she gets there she goes to a room with her class but no parents are aloud back there. So, I drop her off with all her costumes and don't see her again until the show is over. At first I wasn't crazy about that because the ocd in me wants to get her dressed myself for each dance but it is actually SO nice! Instead of having to jump up after each dance (like my mom had to do when I took dance), I get to sit and enjoy the whole show and not worry about her. There are mom volunteers of some of the older girls (there show is separate and after ours) that help the girls get dressed and entertain while we get to enjoy! Lillie did not get to go this year. I took her to my friend Julie's house and she napped and played with her little boy Carson! That was such a life savor because she would not have been able to sit quiet and through it all. We took a few pictures before leaving the house (with my phone because I thought I left/lost my camera and video camera the night before at the dress rehearsal. I didn't discover this until right before pictures and was in sort of a panic over it all! We did find it and it was right where I had sat it once I had picked her up in her room after rehearsal~ whew!) I tired to take a few pictures while she was dancing on stage but those did not turn out too great because no flash photography is allowed but we did get some afterwards with both sets of grandparents! Enjoy!

Their dance teacher calls each child's name and they get a trophy and attendance award and then get to walk across the stage and meet a parent who gives them flowers. Daddy went and met Gracie last year so she wanted me to do it this year! Sweet girl remembers everything! Here she is right after I gave her her flowers!
