So Long, Insecurity!

This past weekend I headed to Atlanta with some sweet girlfriends, Amy and Bethany, to have a girl's getaway and to see a Beth Moore Conference! We headed up Friday afternoon to do some retail therpy:) in Atlanta, eat at the Cheesecake factory and have fun minus our little munchkins! We shopped till we dropped on Friday, spent the night and then were up bright and early to head to Woodstock Baptist church to see Beth Moore. Beth was there in person to talk about her new book: So Long, Insecurity! We were in the overflow room because tickets to the live room were already sold out before we got ours. I can't say we were the only ones...we were joined with hundreds if not a thousand other ladies in the overflow room! I was blown away at all the woman and all the sites the conference was being broadcasted too. She said there were 869 sites that this conference was being telecast too (even Alaska and Canada!) That was over 300,000 woman! I find that amazing what God is doing through Beth and in our world today to reach out to our generation!
It was wonderful to hear Beth talk on our insecurities as women and learning to be a SECURE woman in Christ! Insecurity is something I know I have struggled with off and on as a woman. One thing she said that made sense was being secure makes us think less often of ourselves~which I need to try to do more! Beth came over to visit us during our lunch break which was awesome! She sat on the stage with her daughter Melissa and they had a little Q&A time with us since we were a smaller group...ha ha! One lady asked what advice she would give to young mothers. Her answer was so direct and spoke to me and I think Amy and Bethany as well. She referred to Deut. 6:5-9 and basically said make God a part of your everyday life and love Him with everything you have and it will seep to all parts of your life and those closest to you (your children and husband and family). That is something that hit home and is a wonderful reminder to me to do EVERYDAY!! God is so awesome and I want to seep that into my sweet daughters lives as they grow and learn about Him! It was a wonderful weekend filled with God's word and fellowship with sweet friends!
On a side note....the three of us...along with many more people we know are blog hoppers! I mean we like to check out other ladies blogs. Well, there were a group of blog ladies that we knew were going to be there at Beth Moore. They had advertised going on there blogs and asked others to link up if they were going too. Well, wouldn't you know we sat right near them and of course had to go over and say hello. My husband finds this quite strange but it is actually more common than I ever knew. We met Kelly from Kelly's Korner. She has a ton of followers and I think why she is so popular is she is so real and open about her faith and her love for her family. Click on her name and check out her blog and if you don't believe me about her followers...just scroll down and see how many she really has on her sidebar. She was so nice and friendly and seemed just as happy to meet us..hee hee! Here are a few pictures from the weekend thanks to Bethany!
