Dance Recital!!

Gracie took dance this year for the first time! She took ballet and tap and loved it!! She had her first recital this past Sat. and was over the moon excited!!! She had been looking forward to this day for a long time! We had dress rehearsal on Friday afternoon and then the recital was on Sat. afternoon! She loved me fixing her hair and putting on a little "stage" makeup which was blush and lip gloss! They were all precious up on the stage in their little costumes! She did an awesome job and didn't look nervous at all! Gingy, Popppop, Nana and Papa were there to see her perform! We also had Lillie in tow! She did pretty good through the whole thing she just wanted her mommy to hold her!:) We tried to take pictures while she was up there dancing but they didn't turn out due to the lights and you couldn't use a flash! We did get it on video though. We took some pictures before with Gingy and Poppop but they are on their camera (mine was charging) and then we took some when all the dancers came out for the finale bow! Gracie smiled and waved to us on stage and did all her little moves! At the end her dance teacher called each child over to get a trophy and an award. Then each child walked across the stage to meet a parent and get flowers! G didn't know about all this so she was so excited to get a trophy and so proud to get roses from her daddy! When she was walking back to her spot she held up her flowers and daddy heard her say proudly "I got roses"! It was so cute! Of course I love it all because I took dance for so many years and I am glad G is enjoying it! After the recital we went out for ice cream as a treat with Nana and Papa! Lillie and mommy waiting for the recital to start! Lillie was being a mommy's girl that day! Poor baby couldn't catch a break! She was SO tired and we thought she would fall asleep! She would get comfy when the lights were low but when they started the music the poor baby would jump and then she would settle in for the dance. Then once everyone clapped she would jump again! She made it through though and was a trooper!

Well, this is what happens when there are no changing tables anywhere you go~ ha! There were none at the recital and then we got to the ice cream shop and there were none there. So....we had to improvise and Lillie thought it was so much fun to hang practically upside down! Papa snapped a picture!
