This past weekend Craig and I got a few good nights of sleep and some much needed R&R thanks to Nana and Papa! They kept the girls for us for the weekend and it was just the break we needed!
Before I took the girls to meet Papa for the drop off Thursday afternoon we "surprised" daddy at the bank! Gracie has been wanting to go up there and eat lunch with him so this turned out to be the best day for us! The girls were so cute and I think daddy was proud to show them off to everyone in the office!:)
After meeting Papa I headed back to meet Craig here at home after work. He got busy hanging pictures, some sconces, fixing bathroom cabinet doors, changing light bulbs, etc. I was able to clean, scrub, mop and vacuum which were all much needed! This was not the relaxing night but a much needed one!:) Craig had a meeting in McDonough on Friday so I got on up and headed to the outlet malls to look around while I waited on him to finish. He was done after lunch and we headed up to Atlanta. We stayed in Buckhead and it was a neat experience. Definitely more city than I'm use too!:) We walked around Lenox mall Friday night, which was right across the street from our hotel, ate and just enjoyed doing nothing!
Saturday we got up and headed to Stone Mountain. Neither one of us had been there in years so we thought that would be fun plus Craig wanted to try out some of his hiking gear before his big trip to Maine next week! So, off we went!
I got so tickled at him in his gear! He actually didn't look too out of place! We saw ALL kinds of people and outfits!:)
We got a good workout climbing to the top and then just enjoyed checking out the bottom of the mountain too. Who knew they had so much to do there! There were tons of trails, camp areas, biking, a ropes course and water area. It was neat!
"Trying" out Craig's hiking poles!:)
It was actually overcast which was nice because it wasn't so hot! We were still able to get a good view from the top too!
After our little adventure we started heading back to our hotel but had to make some stops along the way! We passed Target Greatland and I just had to go in! I thought this was just the coolest name...better than Super Target! HA! Can you tell I'm a small southern girl...it's the little things!:)
I was able to get some things off my list so it turned out to be a good thing even though my hubby might have grumbled a few times for being in there!:) We then headed to Phipps Plaza (two mall's for Craig in such a short amount of time was impressive:)) Really he didn't mind that one as much! It was right around the corner from our hotel. I got a few things I needed off my list there too and we also checked out Legoland! We couldn't get in but plan to take the girls back soon! Oh, we also saw my old OBGYN that delivered Gracie with his son! Craig spotted him across the way but we decided that he might think we were crazy if we went up to him and especially still dressed in our "hiking" gear! We definitely were out of place..oh well!
We went out for our nice date night to Maggianos! It's a delicious Italian resturant if you've never been I think it's a must!! We enjoyed yummy pasta, great salads and of course dessert!:)
When you order pasta there they give you another whole meal to go! It's a great deal and we didn't know what we'd do with it but we took them. There was a Target right around the corner from our hotel so we ran in to see if they had a cheap cooler we could get to take it back home in. They did and they also had these cool escalators! Yep...here's the southern girl in me again but I just thought it was the coolest thing~ Ha!:) You put your buggy on the escalator right beside you to get up or down! I had to get a picture! (Uncle Ryan or Aunt Jen I'm sure this is nothing new to you:) G loved seeing it!
We got the girls back on Sunday and it's been go go go every since! Craig had to turn around and fly to Chicago on Monday for the day and then he's been in meetings this week! We met Lillie's MMO teachers this morning and are about to head to meet Gracie's K teachers! Wish us luck....:)
