Strawberry Shortcake Party!

We had Gracie's 4th Birthday party this past Saturday at our house! Her actual birthday was this past Monday! We had a very interesting start to our day! I had been checking the weather all week because it was an outside party. It said rain Friday night and Sat. morning and then to clear up by the afternoon. I just didn't know how bad the weather would be. Daddy woke up Sat. morning a little before 6 a.m. to the sirens going off for a tornado. We jumped up and turned on the weather channel to see that they were saying roads right around our neighborhood. We grabbed the kids and Gingy and Poppop who were staying with us and headed down to camp out in the downstairs bathroom. The power went off as we all sat together! Gracie and Lillie could not have been better about it all. G is not scared at all (she doesn't get that from me~ HA). Turns out a tornado came through about half a mile from us! It was scary! Damage was terrible in the neighborhoods across the street from us but thankfully no one was hurt! The power came back on a little while later and all was calm and sunny the rest of the day. The only thing we fought was the wind which was wild but I will take that over rain and a tornado any day!:)

Gracie had lots of friends come and celebrate her brithday with her along with Nana and Papa and Gingy and Poppop! We had face painting (thanks to Mrs. Amy), played several games (Berry Walk, Berry Bean Bag Toss, Berry Race) and the kids even picked strawberries in Gracie's Berry Patch! I think that had to be my favorite because they all got into "picking" their strawberries and putting them in their little baskets. It was really cute! (Thanks to my friend Carolyn for the idea:)) The kids enjoyed Berry Cupcakes and Berry Pops while the adults enjoyed Strawberry shortcake and chocolate covered strawberries thanks to Nana! We had a strawberry pinata that the kids had a blast trying to bust it and then the kids just enjoyed playing with bubbles and on the playset in the back yard! It was definitely all things Strawberry but oh so much fun! I have loaded some of the pictures so click here to see them! Warning: there are ALOT of pictures and I even cut some of them down!
