The Zoo!

Last Friday while G was still on Spring Break we headed to the Atlanta Zoo! Daddy took the day off which was so nice since we haven't been able to do alot of family things lately with his school and work! We took G to the zoo two years ago and she liked it but just enjoyed running from one thing to another. We were wondering how she would do this year and she loved it! She was really into the animals! She really loved the reptile room and I think we spent the most time in there much to her daddy's dismay!:) (If you know Craig well you will know how deathly afraid of snakes he is. Mind you I don't like them either but he has a phobia about them. I had to laugh as G slowly walked by each one and pointed them out to her daddy:)) We thought we would only be there a couple of hours but ended up spending a little over 5 hours there! It was so much fun! Lillie seemed to enjoy it too and was just the sweetest little thing! Here are some pictures from our trip! First up the flamingos! These birds were just so bright and colorful! Outside the reptile area! They had a train and carousal there and we let G ride each of them. I had to laugh at our train conductor. He looked just like Snoop Dogg to me! (I know some of you are like..who..I don't listen to rap music but I do know who he is. I guess that is Valdosta High coming out of me!:) Craig and I got a nice laugh out of it! He said I should take a picture so as the train went by I snapped one. Funny thing is he actually waved to me~ HA!)
Petting the goats! She was into it until the lady came and told Craig to be careful with the ones that have red collars. (I guess they can be more aggressive...well that is all G needed to hear and she was out of there!)
There was this big birds nest in the bird area and G just had to get in!:)
Happy Girl!
Checking out the lion with daddy!
G loved these little things and we walked by three of them and she just had to stick her head through and take a picture!:)
Checking out the giraffe!
Gracie wanted to sit on this rock with her daddy!:)
The elephant was enjoying some peanuts and he was neat to watch as he ate them!
Gracie loves the flamingos...why they are pink of course..so we had to check them out a few times:)!
Lillie was an angel the whole day and tuckered out towards the end! Sweet baby!!

Tell Gracie that we when we went to the zoo growing up I hated going in the reptile room. Her daddy insisted that we go in and it seemed like we were there for hours. Mom and I were talking about it when we went to the zoo the other week. I just took Kayleigh in the reptile house for the first time that trip. Loved the pics and glad the girls loved the zoo!

I'm sure Gingy can answer this but the snake fear must be a Bechtel thing. Ryan can't stand them either and the first time we did a zoo together he did not want to go in the reptile area...I of course gave him a hard time so he gave in(I don't want to see a snake in the wild but they don't bother me at the zoo). He has gotten better but yeah...it must be a Bechtel thing. :)

Funny, It must be a Bechtel thing.;) I don't want to run into one either but he definitely has a phobia. He can't stand fake ones either. I laugh because usually it is the opposite and it's the woman. He was a trooper with G and she just ate it all up!

YOu know I think maybe they have gotten this from their Father! Cause I can see one in the wild and not be happy but not go totally nut so!! If I know they aren't poisonous then I just tell myself they are eating the mice and bugs I don't want around!!!I do have a tendency to look at the ground when walking around my yard though!!! Funny how we pass our fears down to the next generation!
