NYC: Day 2

We started out day number 2 with it overcast and rainy. That didn't stop our enthusiasm though!;) We had to make a few small changes and switch around a few things but it all worked out great. We started out on a bus tour of the city. We did the Uptown and Downtown loops during the morning. Bus tours are a wonderful way to see a city. We have done it in a couple of other cities and never been disappointed. We were able to see a lot of stuff that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. After the bus tour ended we were looking for a bathroom and stumble into the inside of Rockefeller center. Who new they had tons of shops and eating inside. We had a yummy lunch at a little cafe type place and were able to sit inside (warm and dry) and watch the ice skaters!;) After lunch we headed back down around Times Square to do a little shopping. Toys-r-us, Disney Store, M&M store, etc. are down there. That night we had reservations for Serendipity. I was excited to go here just because it was well known and we have heard so much about the desserts...especially the frozen hot chocolate. The food was yummy and the dessert did not disappoint! We were suppose to go on a holiday lights tour after dinner but it was just rainy so we decided to move that until our last night. Instead we decided to check out FAO Schwarz and walk down 5th Ave. That was fun to see some store windows decorated for Christmas. We ended the night at a revolving restaurant at the top of the Marriott in Times Square for a beautiful skyline view of the city! Here are some pictures from our day. I only did a small amount from our tour because it was a little overwhelming with all the pictures!;)

On our tour bus! The bus we were on was half open and half covered with glass. There was a group of people in the uncovered part and Craig wanted so badly to get back there to take pictures. The group got off about halfway through the tour (it was a hop on hop of bus tour) and he got back there. I made him go by himself because I was too cold!;)

Times Square...our hotel was the building right in the middle. The sign is the red lighted one to the left of the Hyundai sign.

Me not leaving the covered area on bus!;) I should say that all these pictures are taken with Craig's IPhone. We brought our nice camera to NY but with the rain we didn't want to have to be worried about it. Craig used his phone when he could and that was easier to try and keep dry.

Flat Iron Buiding

Another view

A New York street. We were glad we weren't ever driving. We saw one car back in to another car trying to leave a parallel spot and another car bump into the back of a peddle cab. That would not be for me-ha!

New World Trade Center still under construction

Ice skating at Rockefeller Center

The tree

More decorations near Rockefeller center

Huge Toys-r-us

It was fun to walk around...picture for Gracie of giant candy!

Craig pretending to eat some...we left without buying any-ha!

They had a gant Ferris wheel in the middle of the store. I tried to take a picture of some of the cute cars on it for G.

Quick stop at the 3 story candy store for some treats for the girls!

Serendipity!

Yummy...frozen hot chocolate and chocolate cake

Rockefeller tree at night

Tiffany's... They were closed but I'm sure if they were open Craig would have bought me some diamonds-ha!

They had a "diamond" displayed in their window so that's the best I could do!;)
